Reduced, simple sounds, reminiscent of minimal kankyo productions.
Slow + calming ambient with distinct patterns rather than all-encompassing fields. Karl Grundmann
4 peaceful jazz vignettes. Belt of Venus is aquamarine, with a slow, tidal energy as dignified as the sea. The aptly named plantwood is budding, emergent as flowers on dewy moss in the forest.
Stained Glass Sauna has a smoky, mountain resonance, while the Sunken Cabin emerges slowly from dust-mote stillness to tortured but deliberating peaks. The whole thing is bursting with character. Tom Colquhoun
This is guitar ambience that doesn't settle for draping the listener with cloying, inactive drones like a warm weighted blanket - this music achieves its calming effect by opening things up just enough to relieve any pressure I'm feeling. "Miss'd" fills the room with its clean tones while simultaneously creating the effect of it being a much larger space than it is when at high volume.
The record has a cleaner sound than one might expect from color vinyl and was well-protected for mailing. Scott
